Got an iPhone? Got a need to learn Thai? This is not a commercial, this is a recommendation that you check out Women Learning Thai for a report on 14 downloadable apps, or applications, in Apple-speak. Blog author Catherine took a very analytical approach and wrote formatted summaries on each Thai language app. She's even baled it all together into a DL'able spreadsheet. It's a thing of beauty.
It seems as though iPhone apps for Thai language learning is in its infancy, so many improvements will likely show up soon. However, since these apps are priced from $free to $9.99 US (Lonely Planet's), it's not much of a risk and you're bound to learn something. (There is one for a rather pricy $24.99.)
Among the key attributes that Catherine lists, transliteration with tone marks, and zoomable Thai script are the two most important to me. Many don't have tone marks, if they have transliteration at all. I need the visual.
